Welcome to Digital Coast

Digital Coast is an organisation dedicated to the development of a vibrant and innovative technology industry by providing an array of developmental, supportive, interactive, representative, and advocacy services to the Information Technology, Communications and Electronics communities in KwaZulu-Natal.

Partnerships with public, private and educational institutions will be maximised in persuing the following goals:

• Encouraging and developing a flourishing local technology economy.
• Encouraging the development of a leading technology workforce.
• Stimulating the development of innovative technology based solutions.
• Stimulating the formation of business partnerships and strategic cooperation.
• Enabling recognition in and sustained access to established markets.
• Facilitating the development of new markets and business opportunities.
• Developing community awareness of, and participation in the industry.
• Development of skills, capabilities and educational access to communities.

Digital Coast Formation

Digital Coast is being formed as a Section 21 Non-Profit Organisation and will act as an industry association representing the ICT and Electronics industries initially in KwaZulu-Natal.

This is being facilitated in partnership with the Innovation Support Centre, a Godisa Programme supported by the Department of Science and Technology, Department of Trade and Industry, and the European Union.

Membership

Non-discriminatory membership is open to all organisations and individuals with an interest in the ICT and Electronics industries in KwaZulu-Natal.

Membership will be drawn from government agencies, para-statal organisations, educational institutions, corporate business, SMME's, user groups, private individuals, Open Source projects and other interested parties.
